WC Suite Designs
All WC suites are designed and made from two different parts. The two parts are called the cistern and the pan. The cistern holds the water that is required to flush the waste away. This is connected to the pan which is where a person will sit. The pan and the cistern are joined together but can be supplied in different forms, depending on the bathroom where they are going to be fitted. A Twickenham Plumber is a qualified professional. Cisterns are generally plastic or vitreous china (ceramic) and are connected to the wall via screws. The flush is by push button or lever. The cistern in normal circumstances is fitted 600mm above the floor to guarantee the most efficient action. Here is some more information and types. The Flushing Water Supply is controlled by a valve system from either a stored water cylinder or mains supply. The cistern holds 9litres of water, however the dual flush can supply 4.5 or 9ltr of water for the flush. A low level cistern is 200mm deep and will not fit behind the pan, therefore a slim-line of 115mm from front to back is used. Twickenham Plumbers use only highly trained professionals. The Dual Flush Valve (Dump Valve) is fitted to some modern WCs and is a push button operation. Once the button is pressed, it lifts a valve that will release all the water down into the pan. This design is a very efficient flushing system and is also very good on water saving. The Low Level Cistern for a WC suite can be connected to the pan by a short pipe or can be a ‘close coupled’ design where both the pan and cistern are connected to make one unit. The WC Pans are normally ceramic and fixed to the floor through the pedestal by screws. They can be flush to the wall or wall hung. The outlet pipe must connect to soil pipework horizontally. there are two types, a wash down pan or double trap. The wash down is the most common forcing water onto the sides of the pan. The double trap is not really used. << Older post Newer post >>Recent posts
